Lake Garda ( ItalianLago di Garda or Benaco) is the largest lake in Italy. It is located in Northern Italy, about half-way between Venice and Milan. It is in an alpine region and was formed by glaciers at the end of the last ice age. The lake and its shoreline are divided between the provinces of Verona, Brescia and Trento. The lake is a major tourist destination, with a number of hotels and resorts along its shore.

Gardaland is a theme park in Veneto, Italy. Built on the eastern shore of Lake Garda at Castelnuovo del Garda, the park opened in 1975. It has expanded steadily in both size and attendance, topping 1 million visitors annually for the first time in 1984. By 2004, attendance reached 3.1 million.
